The Diamond Club, Emirates Stadium

Following a professional recommendation, Mike Shackleton (Lighting Designer) was approached by Arsenal Football Club to redesign all the lighting in the elite restaurant and bar, known as The Diamond Club, at The Emirates Stadium, Highbury.

This exclusive football venue has a restricted invite-only membership and hosts a Raymond Blanc restaurant. Given only a week for the full installation during the ‘between-seasons’ period, a team of OGL electricians set about transforming this prestigious Club into a subtly lit dining area, a distinctive bar and pre-drink areas for members and their guests, all coupled to a more conducive environment for the Hosts, Chefs and Waiting staff in which to work.

Sensitively controlled from Reception by a sophisticated Lutron switching system, The Diamond Club now reflects the intimacy and atmosphere expected by its important clientele.

Last year we embarked on a major lighting refurbishment of The Diamond Club at The Emirates Stadium, Arsenal’s home ground, where I run an exclusive restaurant for its members and their guests.

This is a prestigious venue, very important to both me and Arsenal. Having worked closely on lighting design with Mike Shackleton previously at Belmond Le Manoir Aux Quat’ Saisons, I was confident OGL would deliver an excellent service and the precise ambience I wanted to create.

The results are exactly what Arsenal Football Club and I hoped to achieve and the members have been overwhelmed by the new lighting in the Club. I look forward to working on other interesting projects with OGL and Mike in the future
